Mr. Ian Terry, founder of YogaFX International Yoga Teacher Training Academy, is widely recognised as one of the best yoga teachers in the world and a world-renowned Original Bikram Hot 26&2 Master Trainer. His academy has been featured on Bali TV and on multimedia channels across the ASEAN region.
Students learn first-hand the tips, tricks and techniques he has refined over 12,000+ hours of international yoga teaching and teacher training. Those years include five extensive yoga teacher trainings with Bikram Choudhury, the founder of the Bikram Hot 26&2 method, and five years, from 2014 to 2019, training directly with him at large teacher training events in Los Angeles, Spain, India, Thailand and China.
YogaFX is internationally certified with Yoga Alliance and approved by the American Council on Exercise.

Mr. Ian & Bikram Choudhury Relationship
- Mr. Ian and Bikram met in Los Angeles in 2012, where Mr. Ian started his Bikram Yoga Certification.
- He went on to join Bikram Choudhury to teach at very large events in India, Los Angeles, Thailand, China and many other locations.
- He continued to work with Bikram on yoga teacher trainings throughout the media firestorm.
- Training events: (2015) Los Angeles, (2016) Thailand, (2017) India, (2018) Beijing, then was heading to Mexico before the earthquake, (2019) Spain (the last event).
- Mr. Ian and Bikram have maintained good personal and business relationships to this day.
- Mr. Ian has attended over 260 Bikram Yoga classes with Bikram Choudhury.
- He has attended hundreds of workshops and posture clinics as a Bikram Yoga teacher staff member and valued Bikram Yoga Master Teacher Trainer.
A Fork in the Road: The Yoga Alliance Challenge
Despite years of teaching alongside Bikram, Mr. Ian faced a surprising reality: Bikram Yoga Teacher Training was not recognised by Yoga Alliance. Many graduates therefore could not teach internationally or hold the certification that studios and students around the world require.
He saw this as an opportunity rather than a setback. He went back to being a student, completed a Yoga Alliance RYT 200, and later advanced to E-RYT 500, the highest standard of teacher accreditation in the Yoga Alliance system. The goal was never the title. It was to make sure others would not face the same roadblock.
Why YogaFX Was Born
YogaFX was built with one mission:
To make high-quality, internationally accredited Bikram-style yoga teacher training more affordable, more accessible, and more aligned with the modern yoga world.
Mr. Ian saw many passionate yogis who wanted to become certified teachers but could not afford the $10,000+ cost or take 9 weeks off for traditional programmes.
So he built a new model:
- A Yoga Alliance certified curriculum
- The authentic Hot 26&2 sequence
- A hybrid format: online theory plus a 6-day in-person intensive in Bali
- Taught with heart, clarity and global recognition

YogaFX graduates have won 12 medals in total: 5 gold, 3 silver and 4 bronze.
- Miss Ivara Candra Kartika (2023 graduate): gold and bronze at the World Championships (Ahmedabad, 2026), silver at the Asian Championships (Fujairah, 2025), and gold at FORNAS VIII (2025). She went from a struggling Standing Bow to world medallist in three years, and now teaches at YogaFX Seminyak.
- Mr. Arkan Fauzan Riyanto (2022 graduate): 2 Silver and 3 Bronze at the World Championships, and FORNAS gold in 2022, 2023 and 2025.
